Only when you know for sure how many guests you are expecting at your party can you start looking for the location and planning the catering and entertainment programme. My tip: Create a detailed cost breakdown of all expected expenses and plan a small buffer for unexpected expenses.<\/li><li><b>Planning period too short<\/b>Start planning too close to the wedding date often leads to limited availability and higher costs for service providers. It also often causes additional stress for you as the bride and groom. Start planning at least 12 months in advance to secure the best service providers and avoid unnecessary price increases.<\/li><li><b>Guest needs overlooked<\/b>Take the needs of your guests into account when planning so that everyone has a relaxed and enjoyable party. Too many stairs to the toilet, for example, can quickly spoil the fun for older guests. And if there are a lot of children present, you may want to have a play corner or book special supervision for wedding parties.<\/li><li><b>Wanting to do too much yourself:<\/b> If you want to take on too many tasks yourself, it can easily lead to a feeling of being overwhelmed and dampen your anticipation of the festivities. Have the confidence to delegate and get help from service providers in the right places.<\/li><li><b>Lack of communication with service providers: <\/b>Make sure you keep your service providers up to date with your plans. Communicate your expectations and wishes as specifically as possible so that they can help you organise a successful celebration.<\/li><li><b>Lack of flexibility:<\/b> My experience as a wedding DJ shows that it is essential to be able to react to unforeseeable events.
