I have been active as a DJ since 1996. In some years I was more active than in others and since 2014 I have been a full-time DJ. At the beginning of my DJ career, I played genre-specific music (specifically: acid, trance etc.). At the time, I appropriately called myself «DJ Cocktail». Similar to a cocktail, which is a mix of different drinks, the DJ generates a mix for the ears from his songs. I gained my first experience as a DJ Cocktail in clubs in the Zurich area for about 3 years.
From DJ Cocktail to DJ Daniel
Later, my sound changed to «Pumpin’ House» and so did my name: from then on, I simply called myself «DJ Daniel». At that time, there were many well-known DJs, especially at house parties, who only used their «normal» name and I thought that was very cool, so I imitated them. I've remained true to this name to this day. In the meantime, I've become a broad-based «open-format DJ» with a very wide repertoire of music anyway. For this reason, a simple name like «DJ Daniel» is entirely appropriate. In addition, I had my first homepage created very early on with the name djdaniel.ch.
Wedding & Event DJ Daniel
DJ Daniel is a suitable name for private parties such as weddings because the name is very personal and trustworthy. On the other hand, DJ Daniel is not so suitable for club gigs. Most DJs who regularly play in clubs therefore use a fantasy name. I feel the same way when I play clubs. That's why I sometimes use the name «DJ Doc Brown» for my club gigs. However, I still call myself DJ Daniel most of the time, even in clubs.
I will remain true to the name «DJ Daniel». Nevertheless, I'm always thinking about expanding the name for club gigs: At the moment, the most popular names are «DJ Daniel Trüsendieb» or «DJ Global Dan». Do you still have an idea for a name? Then send me an e-mail:
